Michael attended Arizona State University (ASU – Tempe, AZ) where he obtained his B.S. (Magna Cum Laude) in 1979 and J.D. (Cum Laude) in 1982. He is peer review rated as AV by Martindale-Hubbell, its highest possible rating. He is a member of the Defense Research Institute (DRI) and the Arizona Association of Defense Counsel (AADC) serving as President in 2002-2003. He serves on the State Bar of Arizona Fee Dispute Arbitration Committee. He served on the Arizona Supreme Court Committee on Examinations (Chairman 1998) and was a registered and designated lobbyist with the Arizona State legislature. He testified before the United States Senate (Commerce Committee) on the issue of Tort Reform.

Michael is at trial attorney, primarily for the defense. His practice areas include: Professional (E&O) Liability; Bodily Injury; Products Liability; Insurance Coverage & Bad Faith; Premises Liability; and, Construction Defects. Michael represents Employers in Title VII matters (discrimination; wrongful termination, harassment; hostile work environment) and on EEOC charges. He represents Arizona Banks in foreclosure, deficiency and collections actions. Michael was named a “Southwest Super Lawyer” 2012 in civil defense litigation.

Michael regularly serves as an Arbitrator or Mediator. He has served as an expert witness as to the issues of attorneys’ fees and insurance coverage. He has taught classes and/or seminars for other attorneys, claims professionals, and college students on the issues of: Ethics; Comparative Bad Faith; Usage of Paralegals in Insurance Defense Litigation; Mediation; Insurance Coverage; Construction Defect Litigation; and, Use of Experts in Litigation.
